hola

hola amigos! here i am. i now have internet at the house. which means no more trying to get crappy wireless on campus and no more USB flashdrive with blog entries on it.
however, this may mean that i slack even more.....i dont know. haha
right now, my laptop isnt in my room, though. i need the man to come back to the house to set it up in my room so im not out in the foyer area doing all my stuff in the middle of the walkway....

yesterday i did normal school. i came home with my internet set up :) and read for the rest of the night. anthro class is starting to give me really long readings and im a slow reader, even slower in spanish....

today i went to class, lunch with whitney and kraig, and then came home. nothing too exciting to report.

yesterday in the mail i got 4 cards - valentines cards from daddy, bruce and susan, diana and charlie, and betty purdue. i thought jojo & grandaddy were gonna be my only valentines!! :) so that made me smile.

tomorrow we are going to dress up and go out to dinner and then hang out together for valentines day. im gonna wear the 1 dress i brought and im pretty excited :)

this weekend is carnaval, its a pretty big deal. evidently the city of quito doesnt celebrate so we are all heading out of town. i cant remember the name of the first place we are going but i think after that whitney, jackie, and i are heading to cuenca for a few days while the others go to Banos - which we have already been to and dont feel the need to return to until we have seen everything else possible. :)

during carnaval - in the cities that celebrate it - there are tons of programs and events that go on. also its like one big water fight with everyone. water balloons, guns, etc are thrown from rooftops, leaving no dry person in sight. pretty cool if you ask me. latin america has some of the neatest traditions :)
